Our Mission

The mission of the RNHA is to build a membership organization to foster the principles of the Republican Party in the Hispanic community; to provide Hispanic Americans with a forum to play an influential role in local, state, and national Party activities; to increase the number of Hispanic Republican elected officials; and to create and maintain a network of Hispanic Republican leaders.

Our Objectives

To support the Constitution and Laws of the United States of America and the Constitution and Laws of Washington to the end that Government shall truly be, in fact, “A government of the people, by the people, for the people.”
To support the principles, objectives and platforms of the Republican Party of the United States of America and the Republican Party of Washington.
To develop and maintain a strong, effective and informed Republican Hispanic constituency throughout the state of Washington.
To recruit and encourage qualified, Hispanic Americans, as registered Republicans, to seek office at all levels of government.
To elect Republican candidates to office at all levels of government.
To adopt resolutions and policy positions on local, state and national issues and to seek to implement these resolutions and policy positions through networks of the Republican Party and other appropriate means.
To promote and encourage citizen participation in Republican activities and to support the principles, objectives and platforms of the Republican Party of the United States of America and the Republican Party of Washington.
To insure the participation of citizens of Hispanic heritage in the American political process and in all levels of the Republican Party.

Our Commitment

Since 1974 the RNHA has been involved in the elections of presidents Ford, Reagan, and Bush and was very active during the 1998 election. Our new leadership is strongly committed to the following:

To increase the RNHA membership, and its role as a resource to local, state, and national GOP candidates and leaders.
To increase, organize and expand state and local RNHA chapters.
To develop and present regional training conferences which provide guidance on organizational issues, electoral planning and mobilizing the Hispanic vote.
To communicate the GOP message to the Hispanic community by participating in educational forums.
To act as community liaison between the Hispanic community and the Republican Party.

Our History

The RNHA grew out of the Hispanic Finance Committee. The Finance Committee raised over a quarter of a million dollars in nine states. Its goal was to build an organization to foster the principles of the Republican Party in the Hispanic Community, to provide Hispanic Americans with a forum to play an influential role in local, state and national party activities, and to increase the number of Republican Hispanic elected officials. The fall campaign of 1972 saw the first group of RNHA members and officials in action. They were discussing issues, and helping to get out the Hispanic vote. In 1974 the RNHA was officially organized by a group of Hispanic Republicans under the leadership of then-incumbent RNC Chairman George Bush. Since that time, RNHA has been the only Hispanic Republican organization recognized as an allied of the Republican National Committee (RNC).

The Washington RNHA was founded in March 2001, by a group of Hispanics that had been involved in the Hispanic for Bush campaign and had a shared commitment to facilitate the increased political involvement of the Hispanic population in our state.

The Washington RNHA established an affiliate relationship with the Washington State Republican Party in January 2002.

Our Constitution

Our State Constitution was adopted in March 2001 and is available here.
